Prof. Dr. Raimund Forst

Orthopedics, Universitätsklinikum Erlangen

The Orthopedic University Clinic deals with innovative research questions relating to in vivo diagnostics and therapy in the field of hip and knee arthroplasty. The main focus is on the assessment of in vivo implant anchoring and implant safety, and the preoperative planning of endoprostheses on the hip/knee joint and spine.

Research projects

  • Assessment of the in vivo implant anchoring of hip and knee endoprosthetics with the Roentgen Stereophotogrammetric Analysis (RSA)
  • Clinical relevance and applicability
  • Validation of the Roentgen Stereophotogrammetric Analysis (RSA) using geometrical basic bodies to assess the in vivo Implant anchoring
  • Bone remodeling processes after artificial joint replacement and the possible influence on the classic marker-based RSA measurement method
  • Influence of anatomical misalignments on the preoperative planning of knee arthroplasty
